For the first time, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) has welcomed a test-tube baby who was born at the hospital on Tuesday.
BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Sharfuddin Ahmed on Wednesday said the baby was born through a caesarean section, reports Daily Sun.
The birth of the baby took place under the supervision of Dr Jesmine Banu, head of the Department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Some 17 doctors and five nurses took part in the caesarean section.
Hailing from Barishal, the couple who gave birth to the first test-tube baby in the history of BSMMU, was suffering from infertility for 13 years.
