Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Dhaka, Isa Yousuf Isa Al Duhailan, has extended an invitation to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia to undertake the Umrah pilgrimage.
BNP Standing Committee member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain informed reporters that the Saudi Ambassador extended the invitation to Khaleda Zia during a meeting at her residence, Firoza, in the capital's Gulshan on the night of Monday, November 25.
BNP Standing Committee member AZM Zahid Hossain and Enamul Haque Chowdhury, a member of the Chairperson's Advisory Council, were also present at the meeting.
Following the meeting, AZM Zahid Hossain stated that the ambassador greeted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, inquired about her health, and discussed her upcoming plans for medical treatment abroad. He also extended an invitation for her to perform the holy Umrah in Saudi Arabia.
