BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Zainul Abedin Faruque has said that any delay in the election would lead to conspiracies.
He questioned, "What signs are beginning to appear? What indications are being given? Why the delay? Why hasn’t the election date been announced yet?"
He raised these questions while speaking to journalists on Friday morning before placing flowers at the Shaheed Minar in Senbug, Noakhali.
Zainul Abedin Faruque stated, "BNP does not want elections just to gain power. BNP wants an election where deceased individuals will not cast votes, where there won’t be an uncontested election like in Sheikh Hasina’s era with 154 candidates winning unopposed.”
Addressing BNP activists, he said, "Members of Swechchhasebak Dal, Jubo Dal, and Chhatra Dal, you have endured many hardships—just be a little more patient. It is because of your sacrifices that we have achieved our second independence."
He further stated, "The ‘game’ may start again. Be prepared for it. Tarique Rahman will become the Prime Minister of this country through the people's votes."
