BNP leader and former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfozzaman Babar has returned home after performing the holy Umrah in Saudi Arabia and undergoing treatment in Singapore.
He arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on a flight from Singapore on Friday afternoon. BNP media cell member Shairul Kabir Khan confirmed this information to the media.
Earlier, Lutfozzaman Babar left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on January 30 to perform the holy Umrah. He fell ill during a stopover in Dubai and underwent treatment at a hospital there. Then he went to Saudi Arabia. After a three-week foreign tour, he returned home.
Shairul Kabir Khan said that Lutfozzaman Babar will visit his village home on February 23. He will exchange greetings with party leaders and activists and local people of three upazilas (Madan-Mohanganj-Khaliajuri) of Netrokono on February 23, 24 and 25.
Former State Minister for Home Affairs Babar was released on January 16 after being 17 years in prison. Then on January 19, Babar was admitted to the capital's United Hospital with chest pain. At that time, he was treated under intensive observation in the Advanced Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
