Actor Akshay Kumar is currently basking in the appreciation for his recent films Kesari Chapter 2 and Sky Force. Although the two projects didn't achieve blockbuster box office numbers, both received positive reviews, particularly for Akshay’s performances.
In a recent conversation following the release of Kesari Chapter 2, the actor shared his thoughts on the feedback he receives from audiences — both favourable and critical.
‘Audience is the ultimate judge’
In an interview featured on Zee Music India's YouTube channel, Akshay emphasized the importance of audience response. “The audience is the real boss because they’re the ones spending their money. When they applaud, it inspires me; when they criticise, I learn something,” he said.
The actor noted that he’s always looking to grow professionally and values honest criticism. “If the feedback is sincere, I take it seriously—whether it’s about the kind of roles I choose or the scripts I pick.
It has happened several times when people have said ‘Do something different’. “So, I tried doing different movies as well. Criticism hurts sometimes, but if it comes from the heart, then it only makes you better,” the actor continued.
Akshay also opened up about what scares him the most—and it’s not just action stunts.
“Besides falling from a helicopter, my biggest fear is that when I wake up one day and there are no messages. That day, I will feel my turn is over. I am not needed now. I think this is the reason why I don’t want to stop. I want to keep on working. It is a small life. I don’t want to rest and make my life smaller,” he said.
