Adviser to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Lt Gen (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, said that students can express their grievances at Suhrawardy Udyan instead of blocking roads. He also mentioned that they are welcome to engage in dialogue with the authorities. Emphasizing the government's preference for peaceful resolution, he expressed that they do not intend to adopt a hard stance against the student protests.
He made these remarks after inspecting the Matian Haor embankment in Tahirpur upazila on Tuesday (Nov26) afternoon.
The adviser reassured the farmers, saying there is no cause for concern as sufficient amounts of fertilizer and seeds are available.
"We will stand by the farmers and ensure a successful Boro harvest this year."
Later, he departed to inspect the crop protection embankments of various haors, including Tanguar Haor in Tahirpur.
