Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AKM Nasir Uddin has sought dua (blessings) and cooperation from the countrymen to gift them a fair election in the future.
“My directive to everyone is to cooperate with the commission to hold a fair election. Barring people at the voting centres and hitting them won’t be allowed. These crimes must be protected,” he asserted.
The CEC made the remarks while addressing the annual sports competition and prize distribution ceremony of Master Taleb Ullah Model School and College, Hafez Jalal Uddin Adarsha Hafezia Madrasa and Etimkhana named after his father and mother at Kutubdia in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.
Nasir Uddin said, “A movement will be waged to gift the nation a fair election. This movement will not be only for franchising; rather, it will establish the people's voting rights. You will vigil your vote like your land. We want to hold the election like an Eid festival. All problems will be solved if we can elect patriots, honest, and eligible persons in this vote festival.”
