If elected to the National Assembly and forms the government, BNP will create 10 million jobs in the first 18 months and it has set a GDP target of $1 trillion in 2034.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir shared this information in a post on his verified Facebook page on Thursday.
Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir wrote that if elected to the National Assembly and forms the government, BNP will create 10 million jobs in the first 18 months. BNP plans to increase the foreign direct investment (FDI)/gross domestic product (GDP) target from 0.45 percent to 2.5 percent of GDP. BNP has set a GDP target of $1 trillion in 2034. BNP also wants to work on how to increase tax collection by removing the burden of additional taxes from the people's shoulders and removing the fear of taxes from people's minds.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “If the government is formed, BNP wants to achieve greater success than in the past in increasing the volume and scope of foreign employment by taking measures to increase the efficiency of country's human resources, providing real training and incentives.”
In the post, he said, “BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said three things in a congratulatory message on the occasion of the investment conference. These are: unity is the stepping stone to future national development, laws enacted to attract FDI by the government of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, and investment-friendly policies taken by the governments of national leader Khaleda Zia.”
