The Election Commission (EC) has suspended six employees after they were found to be involved in National Identity Card (NID) fraud.
They were working on the second phase of the Identification System for Enhancing Access to Services (IDEA) project related to NID.
The matter was revealed in an office order signed by Major Mahmudul Hasan Talukder, deputy project director (Administration) of the IDEA Phase II project.
The six employees are office assistant cum-computer operator Md. Bulbul Ahmed and Md. Sajeeb Ahmed, office assistant Md. Nuruzzaman, Md. Zulfikar Ali and Sardar Abul Kalam Pavel and data Entry operator Mahbubur Rahman.
The order mentioned that the six employees working in the project office have been resigned from their jobs as allegations of involvement in National Identity Card (NID) correction and various unethical activities related to this were proven against them.
