Bangladesh Under-19 team warmed up well for the upcoming ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, beating mighty India by 27 runs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE, thanks to a sterling allround performance of skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim today.
The skipper hammered 75 as the junior Tigers piled up 217-7 in 50 overs after opting to bat first. Debashis Sakar was the other notable scorer with 40.
Tamim also dazzled with the ball by claiming 4-15, which was instrumental in bowling out India youngsters for just 190 in 39.5 overs.
Siddarth waged a long battle to score an unbeaten 56 while Amaan made 30.
Rafiuzzaman Rafi snapped up 2-22 to complement Tamim's effort with the cherry.
Bangladesh are drawn in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal. The Group A comprises with India, Pakistan, hosts UAE and Japan.
Bangladesh youngsters will kick off the tournament by taking on Afghanistan on November 29.
They will then face off Nepal and Sri Lanka on December 1 and 3 respectively.
All of the Group B matches will be held in Dubai while Group A matches will be held in Sharjah.
The final of the tournament is on December 8 in Dubai.
