After a long wait, a trial train has successfully crossed the Bangabandhu Railway Bridge over the Jamuna River on Tuesday (Nov 26).
At around 10:15 am, the train departed from the eastern side of the Bhuyanpur section and traveled to the western side of Sirajganj.
The railway authorities anticipate that official train services will commence across the bridge in December.
However, it will take an additional two months for the trains to reach full speed after the launch.
On Monday (Nov 25), Al Fattah Md. Masudur Rahman, the project director of the Bangabandhu Railway Bridge, confirmed this information.
He said that the construction of the bridge has been completed, and its official inauguration will take place in December. However, a trial train run across the railway bridge will be conducted on Tuesday.
