Local police said that at least four people were killed in two separate road accidents in Natore on Tuesday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Alfu, 55, Mostakim Sheikh, 23, Motaleb Hossain, 45, and Shah Alam, 47.
Ismail Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Banpara Highway Police Station, said: “Alfu, a rickshaw van driver and Mostakim, a pedestrian, were killed in a collision between a truck and a rickshaw van in Lalpur upazila of the district early Tuesday”
The accident happened when the rickshaw van, coming from a side road, entered the Natore-Pabna highway and collided head-on with the oncoming truck, leaving Alfu killed on the spot, the OC added.
In another accident, Motaleb and Shah Alam riding on a motorbike were hit by an unidentified vehicle on Banpara-Hatikumrul highway in Kachikata area of Gurudaspur upazila around 3:30 pm.
The impact of the accident left the duo dead on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge Ismail Hossain of Banpara Highway Police Station said locals spotted the bodies lying on the ground and informed them.
The bodies were sent to the Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy after recovery, he said, adding that legal actions would be taken accordingly.
