Rangpur Riders made waves in Bangladeshi cricket by winning the Global Super League (GSL).
It was the first time in the country’s history that a franchise team brought home an international trophy when clinched the GSL in Guyana in December.
Alongside the GSL trophy, they will also carry the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) trophy which is part of the BPL trophy tour.
Riders have planned various events to celebrate their triumph on Monday.
The team’s cricketers will arrive in Rangpur by helicopter, where activities are slated to take place centering the two trophies (GSL and BPL) while the franchise will distribute 1,500 jersey to their fans across Rangpur.
The BPL mascot, ‘Dana 36,’ will also be part of the festivities. At 1:00 pm, the Riders will parade through the city with the two trophies.
A player meet-and-greet session will be held at the Rangpur Cricket Garden at 2:00 pm.
Fans will also have the chance to take photos with the trophies. The celebrations will continue with a concert at 3 pm featuring the renowned local band, "Avoid Rafa."
Riders have a few days off before their next match in the Chattogram phase. They will face Rajshahi Kings on Thursday.
