National cricketer Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been shortlisted for best sportsperson of the year 2024 for the prestigious BSPA Sports Award.
Miraz was also shortlisted in the popular choice award 2024 alongside other athletes.
The names of the winners of these two categories will be announced through a gala sports award ceremony which will be held on Friday (April 11) at a city hotel.
Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain will be present in the ceremony.
This year, a total of 13 current and former athletes, organizers and associations will be awarded in 15 categories in the sports award ceremony.
The winners will also be awarded with cash prizes.
BSPA president Razwan-uz-zaman Rajib disclosed the names of the nominated persons at a press conference held at Bangladesh Olympic Association Auditorium today (Monday).
Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA), the oldest sports organisation of the country, introduced the first sports award in the country in 1964.
