Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast beginning at 9 am today (April 14), predicting scattered rain, thunderstorms, and temporary gusty winds across parts of the country.
According to the forecast, a trough of low pressure lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while a seasonal low persists over the South Bay.
Under the influence of these systems, rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at one or two places in all eight divisions: Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, and Mymensingh.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is currently sweeping over the districts of Moulvibazar, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, and Patuakhali. The BMD noted that this heat wave may subside in some areas.
Despite these weather patterns, day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 38°C in Rangamati and Sitakunda.
The sun will set today at 6:20 pm and rise tomorrow at 5:37 am in the capital.
