Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, has declared that evil has already been removed from Bangladesh and assured that any remaining negative elements will soon be eradicated. He made these comments during the Pahela Boishakh celebrations at Batamul, Ramna, on Monday.
While addressing attendees, Shafiqul said, “We are trying to build a new Bangladesh. Evil has already been removed from the country, and whatever remains will also be removed in due time.”
The Press Secretary emphasized the spirit of unity reflected in the New Year festivities, describing the gathering as a celebration of harmony and cultural pride. “This New Year celebration has turned into a joyful congregation for all. People have been rejoicing together since morning. Our dream was to see everyone—from the plains to the hills—come together and share this happiness. Today, that dream has come true.”
He also highlighted the Interim Government’s continued efforts to ensure national development and social progress.
Earlier in the day, a colorful Mongol Shobhajatra was brought out by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University. Citizens from all walks of life, including foreign tourists and students, joined the traditional procession, symbolizing inclusivity and hope.
The Press Secretary’s remarks come as the government renews its focus on unity, inclusivity, and building a better future for all citizens.
