The Dhaka University (DU) teachers' organization, White Panel (Sada Dal) with a nationalist ideology, has called on the occupying and oppressive Israel to immediately stop the genocide and possession in Gaza and other parts of Palestine.
At the same time, the organization expressed solidarity with the 'No Work, No School until Genocide Stops' movement.
DU White Panel convener Professor Dr. Morshed Hasan Khan and joint conveners Professors Dr. Abdus Salam and Dr. Md. Abul Kalam Sarkar said in a statement on Monday that the ongoing Israeli aggression, possession and brutal genocide in Gaza have left conscious people around the world speechless. Speaking out against the bloodthirsty policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is now not only a humanitarian responsibility, but it is the duty of all Muslims and all human beings. When the oppressed people of Gaza are bleeding, it is the duty of every conscientious person to stand for justice. Otherwise, we will have to answer to humanity. The genocide and grab by Israel must be stopped immediately.
The leaders of the DU White Panel stated, “The call from Gaza, ‘No Work, No School Until Genocide Stops,’ is not just a slogan, but a final appeal from the side of humanity. In response to this call from the long-oppressed people of Gaza, we express our full solidarity with the global strike called for April 7th.”
They further stated, “We call on everyone—regardless of party or ideology, and without any political or apolitical affiliation, but united under the banner of Bangladesh—to take to the streets in strong protest against this massacre and to raise public awareness. Schools, offices, and courts should all be closed, and we must actively stand in solidarity on the streets for Gaza and the oppressed Palestinians.”
The leaders of the DU White Panel said, “We may not be able to fight directly in Gaza, but we can stand together in our own country and express solidarity with the Palestinian struggle. Each one should step forward from their position and make this movement a success. This movement should not be for any group, but for the sake of humanity.”
