Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast beginning at 9 am today (April 13).
According to the forecast, a trough of low pressure lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas, while the seasonal low persists over the South Bay.
Under the current synoptic conditions, rain or thunder showers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at one or two places across Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions.
A mild heat wave is sweeping over Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Bandarban, and Bagerhat districts and may continue. The department advises residents in these areas to take necessary precautions against the heat.
Both day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country during this period.
On Saturday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded at 36.5°C in Rangamati, Chattogram.
The sun will set today at 6:20 pm and rise tomorrow at 5:38 am in the capital.
