Young Bangladeshi swimmer Samiul Islam Rafi has won a gold medal in the 50-meter backstroke event at the Malaysian Open Swimming Championship.
This marks his first international gold medal.
Rafi’s main event, the 50-meter backstroke, saw him secure the top position on Friday with a time of 26.68 seconds, surpassing his previous best of 27.17 seconds.
The Malaysian Open Swimming Championship featured competitors from various countries, including the Philippines and Hong Kong.
In this event, the silver and bronze medals were secured by swimmers from Malaysia and Singapore, respectively.
