Bangladesh strongly condemns the ongoing genocide and gross human rights violations by the Israeli occupation forces in the besieged Gaza Strip.
In a statement on Monday, the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry said many Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed in attacks by Israeli forces in violation of the unilateral ceasefire last month.
It said that this renewed violence is a clear violation of international human rights law and reflects a grave disregard for the established ceasefire agreement.
Bangladesh unequivocally condemns the continued indiscriminate airstrikes by the Israeli occupation forces in densely populated civilian areas, which have exacerbated humanitarian suffering and brought dire consequences to the helpless Palestinian people.
According to the statement, Bangladesh government calls on Israel to immediately cease all military operations, exercise utmost restraint and respect its obligations under international humanitarian law.
Bangladesh also calls on the international community, especially the United Nations, to take urgent and decisive measures to ensure a ceasefire, protect civilian lives and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian assistance to the besieged people of Gaza. In line with its principled position on justice and human rights, Bangladesh reiterates its unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine along the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
