A metropolitan magistrate court in Dhaka on Saturday sent former member of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Md Matiur Rahman to jail in an arms case of Vatara Thana of the metropolis.
Sub-Inspector Belal Hossain of the Detective Branch (DB) of police, after the expiry of a three-day remand, produced Matiur before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Naznin Akhter and prayed for confining him into jail till the end of the investigation.
The court, after hearing the statement of the prosecution side, ordered to send him to jail custody.
Earlier on January 15, a team of the DB police arrested Matiur Rahman from a house at Vatara area and recovered a fire arms from his possession.
Police later filed an arms case with Vatara Police Station in this connection.
He was taken on a three-day police remand from the court of metropolitan magistrate Naznin Akhter on that day.
