Md Ashiqur Rahman Ridoy, 17, who succumbed to his injuries on Friday at Baufal Upazila Health Complex, was buried at his family graveyard in Patuakhali on Saturday.

Son of a rickshaw puller Ansar Hawlader, Ridoy was an inhabitant of West Jouta village of Baufal Sadar Upazila of the district.

The victim, a construction worker, used to work in Dhaka. He was injured in a police firing during the July uprising at Jatrabari in the capital city on July 18 last year.

He was shot on his head and subsequently underwent treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after the political changeover on August 5, 2024.
