ACC investigates Hasina, Rehana, Kamal Naser over Tk4,000cr wastage in 'Mujib Barsha' celebrations

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated an inquiry into allegations that ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and her ex-principal secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury wasted Tk4,000 crore from the state treasury for the celebration of 'Mujib Barsha' in 2020.

ACC Director General (Prevention) Md Akhtar Hossain confirmed the development during a press briefing today (April 9), stating that a seven-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter.

"The inquiry began in January, and our team is currently gathering information from various organisations," he added.
