Idhika Paul, popular theatre artiste of Kolkata, made her film debut by acting in the Bangladeshi movie “Priyotoma” directed by Himel Ashraf, which was released on 29 June 2023.
The movie “Priyotoma” is considered a U-turn in the career of Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan. And by acting opposite Shakib Khan in this movie, Idhika Paul has made a place in the hearts of the audience, especially in Bangladesh. Actually, the film made her anew overnight superstar.
Idhika Paul’s second Bangladeshi movie “Borbaad” directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, was released on occasion of this Eid-ul-Fitr. Shakib Khan has played opposite her in this movie too. As usual, the movie “Borbaad” has received great acceptance from the audience since the first day of its release in Bangladesh. Till now, this movie is in the discussion.
After “Priyotoma”, Idhika Paul is also in the discussion with her acting in “Borbaad”. That is why the actor is in a very happy mood at the moment.
While talking to the media, Idhika Paul said, “The experience of working in ‘Priyotoma’ was actually different, because it was my first movie. But in the case of ‘Borbaad’, the idea was that I have to work better so that it is at least a step better than my previous performance. While working on ‘Borbaad’, I had this in mind that I could reach the expectations that the audience has created around me.”
“I can say that the response that is being received after the release of ‘Borbaad’ has fulfilled all my expectations. I’m very, very grateful to all the viewers, especially in Bangladesh. I’m indebted to their love,” she added.
On the work front, Idhika has already completed the work of Akash Malakar’s “Bohurup” opposite Soham. At the moment, she is busy working on the film “Roghu Dakat”, in which she will be seen acting opposite Dev. It is being directed by by Dhrubo Banerjee. Idhika said that “Roghu Dakat” will be released during the upcoming Durga Puja.
