One more dengue patient died and 40 others were hospitalised in the past 24 hours till Saturday morning in the country.
The dengue death toll has risen to eight so far this year.
"During the period, 16 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city while 24 patients were admitted to different hospitals outside the capital city," said a statement of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of dengue cases rose to 831 across the country. Of them, 60 per cent are male and 40 per cent are female.
In 2024, the country recorded 575 dengue-related deaths and a total of 101,214 dengue cases.
