Poush and Magh are known as the winter months in the Bengali calendar. The month of Poush has come to an end, and the month of Magh has started. In many areas of the country, the expected winter weather was absent during the first three days of Magh. In some regions, the temperature was four to five degrees higher than normal.
On Saturday, on the fourth day of Magh, the Meteorological Department has predicted a slight decrease in temperature, which may cause an increase the feeling of cold.
However, in the coming two days, Sunday and Monday, the cold is expected to intensify. Daytime and nighttime temperatures could decrease by one to two degrees during this period. Meteorologists have also cautioned that a mild to moderate cold wave may affect some parts of the country on Monday.
Meteorologist Md. Omar Faruk informed the media, "Starting from Sunday, temperatures may decrease slightly, leading to a stronger feeling of cold. The cold could become more intense on January 20, with a mild to moderate cold wave likely affecting some areas in the northern and western parts of the country. Temperatures may rise again after January 23, but another drop in temperature is expected from January 26."
The forecast until 6 PM on Sunday suggests that the sky may be temporarily cloudy across the country. During this time, both daytime and nighttime temperatures may experience a slight decrease.
The weather is expected to stay the same until 6 PM on Monday, with temperatures possibly dropping by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius during both day and night.
