To raise awareness about mental health, Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised an open discussion session at Dhaka College on Sunday.
As part of the initiative, awareness leaflets were distributed across the campus, posters were displayed, and direct interactions were conducted with students to highlight the importance of mental health.
The event was presided over by Mahmudul Hasan Shovon, president of the Bashundhara Shuvosangho Dhaka College Branch, and moderated by General Secretary Md Emdadul Haque.
Among those present were Vice Presidents Humayun Mohammad Sami, Gagan Ghosh and Mustakim Islam Musa; Joint General Secretaries Md Milon Hossain and Akhtaruzzaman Rifat; and Assistant Sports Secretary Md Siam; among others.
Emdadul Haque said, “Mental health is one of the fundamental pillars of a healthy and normal life. A mentally healthy person can think clearly, make sound decisions, and effectively face life's challenges. Therefore, alongside physical health, it is extremely important to take care of mental well-being, reduce stress, and seek support when necessary. A healthy mind is the key to a beautiful and successful life.”
Mahmudul Hasan Shovon said, “While we are quite conscious about our physical well-being, we often neglect our mental health. As a result, many struggle through life challenges and ultimately fall in depression. This mental health campaign will play a significant role in increasing awareness among students.”
