Bashundhara Tissue and Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a tree plantation programme at the residential halls of Rajshahi College on Monday, with the aim of raising environmental awareness among students and help address the adverse impacts of climate change.
As part of the program, saplings of various fruit-bearing, forest, and medicinal trees were planted across the premises of four residential halls.
Among those present were Miratuz Jahan Mili, president of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Rajshahi College Branch; Rafat Ahmed Pritom, general secretary; Sarowar Alam Shafi, organizational secretary; Mithila Farzana Asha and Shahed Islam, joint general secretaries; DM Al Amin, hospitality affairs secretary; Syed Bin Anwar Fardin Ontor, member; along with others.
Speaking on the occasion, Miratuz Jahan Mili said, “In the current context of climate change, rising temperatures, and environmental pollution, there is no alternative to large-scale tree plantation. Such initiatives in educational institutions play a vital role in developing students into responsible citizens and encouraging them to contribute to environmental conservation.”
