The price of gold jewelry in Bangladesh has been reduced once again, with the price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold falling by Tk 3,266 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Following the latest adjustment, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewelry, including VAT, has been set at Tk 225,290, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus).
Bajus said the price reduction was made in response to a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market. The new prices came into effect at 10:00 am on Monday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Monday morning.
The revised prices were announced in a statement signed by the committee's chairman, Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.
The latest cut comes just two days after BAJUS raised the price of 22-carat gold jewelry by Tk 5,482 per bhori on June 27.
Under the revised price list,
22-carat gold jewelry Tk 225,290 per bhori (down Tk 3,266),
21-carat gold jewelry: Tk 215,142 per bhori (down Tk 3,150)
18-carat gold jewelry: Tk 184,758 per bhori (down Tk 2,682)
Traditional-method gold jewelry: Tk 150,932 per bhori (down Tk 2,216)
