The government on Sunday carried out a major reshuffle in the police administration by transferring and assigning new postings to 21 senior officers of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Police) cadre, including four newly promoted additional inspectors general (Addl IGs).
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a gazette notification in this regard through its Police-1 Section.
The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Towsif Ahmed, said the transfers were made in the public interest and would take immediate effect.
According to the notification, DIG Md Mushfequr Rahman has been promoted to Additional IG and posted to Police Headquarters.
NSI Director (DIG) Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain has been promoted and appointed as Additional IG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while DIG Md Moniruzzaman has been promoted to Additional IG of Police Telecom.
RAB Additional Director General (DIG) Faruk Ahmed has also been promoted to Additional IG and posted to Highway Police, Dhaka.
At the DIG level, Proloy Chisim has been posted to the Police Training Centre (PTC), Noakhali; Mia Masud Karim to the FDMN Office of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN); Mohammad Osman Gani to PTC Rangpur; and AFM Mosharraf Hossain Miyaji to PTC Khulna.
Among the Additional DIG-level officers, Moha. Asaduzzaman has been transferred to RAB, while AKM Akhtaruzzaman and Md Qutub Uddin have been posted to Police Headquarters. Md Al Mamun has been appointed Commandant of the 2nd APBN, Sarker Mohammad Kaiser has been transferred to PSTS Betbunia, and Mohammad Mohibul Islam Khan to the Bangladesh Police Academy (BPA), Sardah.
Additional DIG Md Abdul Warish has been posted to PTC Rangpur, while Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan has been attached to the Barisal Range DIG's office.
At the Superintendent of Police level, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir has been posted to Police Headquarters, Md Zahidur Rahman to the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah, Salma Syed Poli to the Rangpur Range DIG's office, and Md Shahidul Islam and Md Kamruzzaman to the Barishal Range DIG's office.
The reshuffle takes effect immediately, according to the ministry's notification.
