Syria condemned on Monday new Israeli incursions into its southern provinces of Quneitra and Daraa and the accompanying artillery shelling and aircraft overflights, calling for international intervention to halt the repeated attacks, Al Mayadeen reported.
In a statement, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said it “condemns in the strongest terms the Israeli aggressions represented by incursions into Syrian territory in the provinces of Quneitra and Daraa, the targeting of the area with artillery shells, and the resulting terrorizing of civilians.”
The Ministry stressed that the attacks constitute a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
It warned that the continuation of such attacks “undermines efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability, increases the suffering of civilians in the targeted areas, and threatens further escalation and tension in the region.”
