Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called the Finance Minister to increase tax-free income limit to Tk 4 lakh. He made this call while participating in the budget discussion in the National Parliament on Monday.
The Prime Minister also said that the Teesta Master Plan will be implemented at any cost. The Prime Minister also proposed to reduce the tax rate in private universities to 5 percent. He recommended withdrawing the proposal to make TIN certificate mandatory for property registration.
The Prime Minister said that if the budget is passed, the cost of heart rings and eye lenses will be reduced by half. The Head of Government also called the proposed national budget life-friendly.
The Prime Minister also said that the government is trying to provide relief to the people. “After the withdrawal of customs duties on 61 products, the prices of goods are normal. Foreign exchange reserves had decreased due to money laundering,” he said.
Stating that a democratic situation has been created in the country at present, the Prime Minister urged to move forward without looking at the past.
