Bashundhara Public School and College (BPSC) on Monday launched its Tree Plantation Programme 2026, joining Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's nationwide tree plantation campaign to promote environmental conservation and build a greener Bangladesh.
Held at the school's Bashundhara Residential Area campus under the slogan, "Green Message in Education, A New Journey Towards a Green Bangladesh," the programme brought together students, teachers and officials in a collective effort to raise environmental awareness and encourage tree planting.
The day-long programme was conducted in three phases, beginning at 9:30 am with an inaugural address by BPSC Principal Brig Gen (Retd) Anisur Rahman.
According to Bashundhara Public School and College authorities, around 1,000 saplings of various species will be planted across the campus as part of the initiative to expand green coverage.
Speaking at the event, Principal Brig Gen (Retd) Anisur Rahman said the programme was organised in support of the Prime Minister's nationwide tree plantation campaign.

"We have already planted many varieties of trees around our campus and plan to plant even more in the coming days. We do not want to leave a single corner of the campus unused. Our goal is to develop a greener, healthier and more environmentally friendly educational institution," he said.
Students enthusiastically participated in the annual programme, describing it as one of the school's most anticipated events.
"Our school organises this programme every year, and it is one of my favourite activities. Teachers and students plant trees together, making the entire day enjoyable and meaningful," said Alvey Xavier Rozario, a Class VIII student.
Bashundhara Public School and College authorities said the initiative aims not only to increase greenery on the campus but also to inspire students to play an active role in protecting the environment, promoting sustainability and combating climate change.
