To mark the National Road Safety Day, the Bashundhara Shuvosangho has organised an awareness campaign in Bogura town.
Aimed at raising awareness among the drivers and pedestrians, members of the organisation distributed informational leaflets on various spots in the town.
With the theme “Let’s not save time by taking risks, let’s return home safely,” the Bogura District unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho held its awareness campaign on Tuesday.
Members of the unit distributed leaflets containing messages about traffic rules and safety in key areas of the district town including Satmatha, Sherpur Road, Judge Court, and Jailkhana Mor.
Rickshaw puller Bulu Mia, upon receiving a leaflet, said, “I wasn’t aware of so many road rules before. Today, I learned a lot from this leaflet. From now on, I will follow the rules while driving.”
Another rickshaw puller, Sanaullah said, “I will keep this leaflet with me all the time and help raise awareness among others.”
Ashfaq Ur Rahman Chandon, general secretary of Bashundhara Shuvosangho Bogura District unit; Raihan Siddiqui Sajal, assistant general secretary; Traffic Sergeant Gopal Chandra Mondal; Social Worker Helal Uddin; Shuvosangho members Siam, Sadman, Jannatul, Sajid, Sakib, Abir and Nazmul were present on the occasion.
Traffic Sergeant Gopal Chandra Mondal said, "By distributing these awareness leaflets, Bashundhara Shuvosangho has given National Road Safety Day a meaningful purpose. I hope they will continue their social and humanitarian activities in the future."
