Engineer Ishraque Hossain, Special Assistant to the BNP Chairperson's Foreign Affairs Advisory Committee, said that now BNP demands for a prompt national parliament election from the Interim Government.
He made the statement on Monday at a view-exchange program with expatriates organized by Dhaka residents in East London.
Ishraque Hossain said, “Not for power. BNP is fighting for the country's independence, sovereignty, democracy and the people's right to vote.”
At the meeting, expatriates highlighted Ishraque Hossain’s sacrifice and dedication for party workers during the anti-fascist movement. They also mentioned the unforgettable contribution of freedom fighter Sadeque Hossain Khoka, the popular mayor of undivided Dhaka, to the establishment of democracy.
In addition to participating in a special prayer meeting organized to pray for the full recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, the UK expatriates exchanged views with Ishraque.
UK BNP President MA Malik and General Secretary Kaishar M Ahmed were present among others.
