Law enforcement agencies are investigating the fire incident at the house of painter Manabendra Ghosh in the Garpara Bazar area of Manikganj Sadar Upazila.
Manikganj Superintendent of Police Yasmin Khatun said police have already visited the scene, according to a statement issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Wednesday.
The investigation is ongoing, and action will be taken as soon as possible if evidence of anyone’s involvement is found, she added.
Manikganj Deputy Commissioner Monowar Hossain Molla said the exact cause of the fire will be determined through the investigation, and the burnt house will be rebuilt at the initiative of the district administration.
One room of the house was completely gutted in the fire late Tuesday, according to the artist’s family.
