A seven-member BNP delegation, led by party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, is holding a meeting with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, pressing for a clear roadmap to hold the national election.
The meeting began at 12:10 pm at the state guest house Jamuna, said BNP media cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
The delegation includes BNP Standing Committee members Jamiruddin Sircar, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Salahuddin Ahmed and Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Chowdhury.
Earlier, BNP sought an appointment with Chief Adviser Prof Yunus to discuss the announcement of an election roadmap by December, said the party’s Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed.
He said, “The BNP requested time to meet the Chief Adviser on several issues. The party will decide its next course of action after holding talks with the CA.
The BNP leader also said that it is essential to announce a specific roadmap to clear the uncertainty surrounding the election.
Meanwhile, the BNP is scheduled to hold a meeting with the National Consensus Commission at 3:00 pm on Thursday.
