Members of Bashundhara Shuvosangho in Bhola have organised a henna festival with underprivileged children to colour their dream on Eid.
Shuvosangho district unit President Shafayat Hossain presided over the programme while members Tanjida Akhter, Sumaiya Akhter, Israt Jahan Nuha, and Fatema Islam decorated the hands of helpless and underprivileged children with henna.
“Sisters have applied mehedi to my hands. No one has ever applied henna to me like this before. Decorating my hands with henna makes me feel the joy of Eid before Eid,” said Mim, a child who participated in the programme.
Shafayat Hossain said the organisation has taken the initiative of holding a henna festival to share the joy of Eid with underprivileged children.
“We want to bring smiles to the faces of underprivileged children of the society. We have tried to spread the joy of Eid among the poor, helpless and underprivileged children. That is why we have this arrangement. We are happy to bring smiles to the faces of helpless and underprivileged children,” he said.
Shuvosangho district unit Office Secretary Sumaiya Akhter, Planning Secretary Israt Jahan Nuha, Event Secretary Md Saidur Rahman, and members Tanjida Akhter, Fatema, Kazi Ehsanul Haque Jihad, and Md Shakhawat Hossain Siam were present at the time.
