Bashundhara Shuvosangho on Sunday organised a story writing competition for students of Anando Mohan College in Mymensingh town, in a bid to preserve the memories of the violent and yet glorious July-August days.
The Anando Mohan College unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho also honoured the sacrifices of the martyrs and the injured of the anti-fascist movement through Sunday’s contest held at the Syed Nazrul Islam open air stage on college campus.
In the contest, undergrad and higher secondary-level students from different departments and batches were asked to write short stories on their experiences of the student-people uprising that ousted the autocratic Awami League from power on 5 August.
Winner of the contest was philosophy department’s first-year student Swachha Dey, first-runner up was 12-th grader Humayun Kabir Apu and the second runner-up was Islamic history department’s first-year student Maishara Sultana Moitree.
On behalf of Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Anando Mohan College unit, unit President Faisal Ahmed, Vice-President Sajjad Islam and Organisational Secretary Enamul Akanda were present during the contest.
Furthermore, other key members of the unit including Mehedi Hasan, Sudipto, Fahim, Naima, Asha, Nusaiba, Sakib, Naim, Munia, Ankan Chakraborty, Purnima Sarkar and Prokash Rajbangshi were present at the event.
