The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested former Awami League lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi in Chattogram on Tuesday night.
Bodi was apprehended in the city’s GEC area in an attempted murder case filed with Teknaf Police Station, confirmed RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Sharif-ul-Alam.
On August 18, one Abdullah lodged the case accusing 50-60 people, including Bodi.
The Awami League leader was elected the Member of Parliament from the Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency in the ninth and 10th general elections.
Since he was convicted in a corruption case, his wife Shahina Akter got the party ticket during the 11th and 12th parliamentary polls and was elected as well.
Bodi was named as the kingpin of drug smuggling on the list prepared by the Department of Narcotics Control.
