Mohamed Salah, who has been a key player for Liverpool since his arrival in 2017, has just seven months remaining on his current contract. Despite his long service to the club, the Egyptian forward has not yet received an official offer for a new deal, leaving him deeply disappointed.
Salah, who is currently Liverpool's top scorer with 12 goals across all competitions, is contracted to the Premier League club until the end of the current season. The 32-year-old forward's future remains uncertain as he approaches the final months of his deal.
Salah netted twice in Liverpool's 3-2 victory over Southampton in the league on Sunday. The 32-year-old, who joined the club from Roma in 2017, expressed his frustration after the match, saying with a hint of pride, "We're almost in December and I haven't had an offer to stay at the club. I'm more likely to leave than stay here." When asked if he was disappointed not to have received a contract offer, he responded, "Absolutely, yes."
However, Liverpool has yet to publicly respond to Salah's comments.
So far this season, only Manchester City's Erling Haaland (12) has scored more Premier League goals than Salah (10). The Egyptian forward signed a three-year contract extension with Liverpool in 2022.
