In September this year, Bangladesh cricket received a delightful piece of news from Australia. Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was called up to the Big Bash League (BBL), Australia’s franchise cricket tournament. He was signed by the Hobart Hurricanes. However, there had been concerns about whether he could actually participate in the tournament due to the national team’s packed schedule and the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Fortunately, there’s good news for Rishad. He has received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in Hobart from December 21 to December 29.
The owner of Fortune Barishal, Rishad’s team in the BPL, Mizanur Rahman, confirmed it to the media.
"Rishad has been granted the release. He will join the Barishal squad on December 29. We hope he will return with valuable experience."
The Big Bash tournament will begin on December 15 and conclude on January 27. Rishad will have the opportunity to play in only two matches, on December 21 and December 27.
