Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain and veteran batsman Mushfiqur Rahim are set to miss the upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies.
A senior BCB official confirmed the news, stating that both players are expected to make their return to competitive cricket during the upcoming NCL T20, which is scheduled to begin on December 11.
“I don’t think they will be able to make it for the white-ball series against West Indies as both of them are not likely to recover fully before the white-ball series,” said the official on request of annonimity.
“They are expected to return in competitive cricket with the NCL,” he added.
Towards the end of Afghanistan's batting innings in the three-match series opener Mushfiqur injured the tip of his left Index finger while keeping wickets and X-ray after the match confirmed a fracture on his left Index near the DIP joint.
In the second ODI, Najmul sustained groin injury while fielding and following the game he underwent scan that revealed he sustained Grade II strain on his left groin.
Both of them were ruled out from the Test series against West Indies but team management were hoping that they will be available during the white-ball series in Caribbean.
