Chief Advisor's Deputy Press Secretary Apurba Jahangir said, “The election date has not been announced yet from the Chief Advisor's office. The Chief Advisor will announce the election date at a convenient time.”
He said this at a press briefing of the Chief Advisor's Press Wing on current issues on Sunday evening.
The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and four other commissioners took oath before Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed at the Supreme Court's Judges' Lounge around 1:30 pm Sunday.
After the oath, the new CEC AMM Nasir Uddin said that preparations for the election have begun with this.
At the time, Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Azad Majumder said that the government will appeal to the Supreme Court against the High Court's order regarding battery-powered auto-rickshaws.
He also said that the Commission on Enforced Disappearance has not yet made any recommendations.
