Dhaka University has postponed the fourth-year honours examinations of the seven colleges which were scheduled to be held on Tuesday (November 26).
The decision comes after clashes broke out among the students of three colleges in the span of two days over the death of a student of Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College at Dhaka National Medical College.
According to a notification signed by examination controller Md Bahalul Haque Chowdhury on Monday (November 25), tomorrow's examinations for the seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University have been postponed citing unavoidable reasons.
The new date of the postponed examinations will be announced soon, it added.
Sources said scores of people were injured as students of three colleges -- Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul College and Dr Mahbubur Rahman Mollah College clashed at Dhaka's Jatrabari on Monday, turning the area into a battlefield.
Six platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the capital’s Jatrabari-Demra area to maintain law and order following the fierce clash.
