The members of the Bangladesh Army will return to their respective cantonments when police forces resume their work properly, said Waker-uz-Zaman, chief of army staff in Khulna on Monday.
“Police need to be made more organized and then we will be able to return to normalcy,” Waker-uz-Zaman said while talking to journalists after briefing Army members at a temporary camp in Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Daily Sun reports.
“We are working around the clock. The army is deployed in every division. Hopefully, the situation will return to normal soon,” said the chief of the army staff.
Regarding the resumption of police operations, he said that around 95 per cent of police stations across the country have resumed activities, while 85 per cent of the stations in Dhaka are operating normally.
