Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun has called upon the police forces to perform their duties with strong moral courage and patience in maintaining self-security.
The IGP came up with the call in a video message sent by the Police headquarters to the media outlets on Tuesday afternoon, Daily Sun reports.
In the video message, he also assured that he would ensure proper treatment of the police forces who sustained injuries during the recent nationwide unrest.
At the same time, he also expressed his deep condolences over the death of those who lost their lives during the country’s volatile situation.
The IGP also called upon the leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and leaders of different political parties to take measures so that miscreants cannot carry out further subversive activities on government establishments and public properties.
Besides, Mamun also extended his gratitude to the Bangladesh Army for its support in protecting police stations and other establishments across the country during the worsening situation.
He expected that the country's overall situation would come to normal immediately with the collective support from all sections.
