Jatiya Sangsad Whip Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapan on Friday termed that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is a global asset, reports BSS.
"Today, Bangabandhu's glory and fame spread worldwide. The greatest Bangalee of all times and architect of independence Bangladesh is a global asset," he said while addressing a political camp marking the 103rd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu.
In his speech, Swapan discussed politics, work, life and ideals of Bangabandhu.
Chaired by District Awami League President Arifur Rahman Rocket, the political camp was organised by Awami League and its associate organizations.
The camp was inaugurated at 7am by hoisting the national flag, flying balloons and releasing pigeons.
After the inauguration, the function started with paying rich tributes to the portrait of the Father of the Nation and observing one minute silence.
Swapan, also Awami League organizing secretary, said since creation of Pakistan, Bangabandhu started the journey of organizing people of this country gradually with the dream of building an independent Bangladesh.
The architect of independence secretly engaged himself in the great work of organizing the student in a planned way for independence, he said.
About 20,000 leaders and workers of different ages participated in the political camp.
