Eight gold bars recovered in Jashore

Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have recovered 8 gold bars from Agrobhulut frontier under the Sharsha upazila of Jashore on Wednesday morning.

The BGB personnel also seized the motorcycle of the smugglers.

Khulna 21-BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Tanvir Rahman said acting on a tip-off BGB personnel recovered 8 gold bars and seized the motorcycle used by the smugglers, who fled the scene sensing the present of the paramilitary forces in the morning.

The estimated value of the recovered gold is Tk 73 lakh, he added.
