The government on Wednesday made a major reshuffling in the Police department by transferring seven Additional Inspectors General (Adi-IGPs) and seven Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Police to new stations, reports BSS.
According to a notification issued by the public security division of the Home Ministry, Principal of Bangladesh Police Academy, Sharda, Rajshahi Adi-IGP Abu Hassan Tarique was transferred to the Police Headquarters (PHQ) as its Adi-IGP, meanwhile the newly promoted Adi-IGP and Additional Police Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mir Rezaul Islam was made the Principal of the Police Academy.
The DIG of the Special Branch (SB) Md Humayun Kabir was posted to the Police Headquarters on promotion as its Adi-IGP while at present DIG of the Police Headquarters Md Jamil Ahmed was posted at the same station as its Adi-IGP.
The newly promoted Adi-IGP YM Belalur Rahman of the police headquarters was posted to the Police Telecom as its chief while the present Adi-IGP of the Police Headquarters Md Shahbuddin Khan was posted to the Highway Police as its chief. The incumbent chief of the Highway Police Adi-IGP Mallick Fakhrul Islam was made Rector of Bangladesh Police Staff College, it added.
The present DIG of Sylhet range Md Mofizur Rahman was transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU) of the police as its DIG while DIG of the ATU Shah Mizan Shafiur Rahman was made the new DIG of the Sylhet range.
DIG of the Police Headquarters Md Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan was posted to the Railway Police Headquarters as its DIG while present DIG Railway Police Joydeb Kumar Bhadra was posted to the Police Headquarters as its DIG.
Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Md Nisharul Arif was transferred to the Police Training Centre, Khulna as Commandant and the present DIG of the Tourist Police Md Elias Sharif was made the Commissioner of the SMP.
